DAY PROGRAMS

Our employees are the key to DEC's success in providing services that primarily focus on vocational development, while creating outstanding opportunities for socialization and community integration. Working weekdays, caring and committed staff enhance the quality of life enjoyed by adults with developmental disabilities, tailoring the services they provide to each individual in four areas: living skills training, job training and employment services, community housing, and therapeutic and enrichment services.

  SUPPORTIVE LIVING SERVICES

DEC provides Supportive Living Services (SLS) to higher functioning individuals capable of being independent at home and in the community with the help of some personal support services. Staff working in this program provide these services to individuals living in their own home, apartment and boarding homes. The level of support that individuals receive is flexible ranging between one and 15 hours a week per person; however, in some cases, the level of support may be greater.

  COMMUNITY HOMES

DEC provides community housing for adults with primary diagnoses of mental retardation. Committed to meeting both the health and safety needs of the individuals served, staff also provides the means necessary by which our individuals may live the life they choose. Focusing on community integration and providing opportunities for socialization, DEC encourages family involvement and are steadfastly committed to a seamless team approach to service delivery.

  EMPLOYMENT

The Employment Services staff supports adults with developmental disabilities to achieve maximum levels of employment and economic independence. Through a process of continuous improvement, staff helps our individuals with the personal support needed to succeed, plus hands-on experience and guidance critical to success in today's competitive work environment.
